If you run a club, a league or a tournament, you pay for that. If someone added you or your child to a roster, you don't. Every price is on this page.
What you get for free.
Check the schedule, see the roster, follow the score live, get the result, and hear when something changes. Coaching a team counts as taking part, so running one is free too. Your own child's record is yours.
Athlete seats, per season. You choose how many.
A seat is one athlete, in one sport, for one season. A club or a league buys as many as its rosters need, and the more you buy, the lower the rate on the seats past each line: your first 50 are $12 each, the next 100 are $9 each, and so on.

The lower rates apply only to the seats past each threshold.
You add seats when you decide to. A player joining a roster never changes what you pay.

Creating a tournament, opening registration and approving teams cost nothing. When you finalize the field, the fee is set by the number of teams in it, and you pay it once.

How billing works.
I'm a parent. Will I ever be charged?
You're never charged for your child being on a team, however many teams that turns out to be. A coach, a club or a league can add your child to a roster and nothing comes to you. You and your family use Recursive free.
What is a seat?
One athlete, in one sport, for one season. You buy seats up front, and the rate drops as you buy more. Your bill changes only when you buy more seats yourself. If a coach adds a player and every seat is in use, the player waits until you add one, and nothing is charged in the meantime. If a club already holds a seat for an athlete, joining a league never counts that athlete again. A league pays only for athletes on teams no club pays for.
Who qualifies for the community rate?
Recreational programs: a parks and recreation department, a school district, a city league, or any club whose registration fee is $300 or less per player per season. Email us your published fee schedule and we'll apply the rate to your account. The rate covers the whole account, so a club running a recreational division and a select program under one payer gets a single rate for all of it — the one its published fees support.
When is a tournament fee paid?
When you finalize the field, for the teams in it. Creating the tournament, opening registration and approving teams cost nothing, and up to 8 teams the tournament itself is free. Teams hear they're in once the field is set.
Why is live streaming free?
Being at the event is taking part, and taking part is free. Watching from the stands and watching from three states away are the same thing to us.
Do you charge per player or per family?
No. There's no family plan and no per-player charge. Players, parents, fans, coaches and referees get added to teams by other people, so they aren't the ones who pay.
What happens to my data if I stop paying?
Nothing is erased. Your teams, seasons and records stay where they are, and everyone on them keeps taking part for free. Email us for an export, or to have it deleted. The Privacy page spells out what we keep and for how long.
